Cool facts about universe

Image
Science Probably, the craziest thing to me is that at some point, the universe didn't exist. Trying to imagine true nothingness always gives me a weird feeling. Anyways here are some other cool facts: When you're looking through a telescope, the most complex object in the universe (that we know of) is not visible... Because it's inside your skull. The  Tarantula nebula  in the Large Magellanic Cloud is so bright that if it were at the distance of the Orion Nebula from Earth (~1000 Ly) then it would cast shadows and be the third brightest object in the sky, after the Sun and the Moon. The fastest spinning neutron star,  PSR J1748-2446ad , spins 716 times per second. That's so fast that the material on the equator of the star is moving 24% of the speed of light. An average supernova releases more energy in one second than the Sun will over its entire 11 billion year lifetime...  By ten times . Also, there is one supernova in the galaxy roughly every 50 yea...

Science #1 Lightning strikes produce Ozone, hence the characteristic smell after lightning storms Ozone, the triple oxygen molecule that acts like a protective stratospheric blanket against ultraviolet rays, is created in nature by lightning. When it strikes, the lightning cracks oxygen molecules in the atmosphere into radicals which reform into ozone. The smell of ozone is very sharp, often described as similar to that of chlorine. This is why you get that “clean” smell sensation after a thunderstorm. #2 The only two non-silvery metals are gold and copper The only two non-silvery metals in the world are gold and copper. A metal is defined as an element that readily forms positive ions (cations) and has metallic bonds. These elements have electrons that are loosely held to the atoms, and will readily transfer them. Most metals’ electrons reflect all colors equally which are in the visible spectrum of light. So those metals appear as white – silver. But, Gold and cop...

Technology in cricket

Technology Technology has driven Sport in the Modern era and Cricket is no different. Cricket Umpire Counter : This is a device that the umpire uses for counting. The device can count Balls, Overs and Wickets. It is designed as per the palm of a hand and its quite handy. It can count up-to 99 overs. The umpire has to rotate the wheels on the counter to change the number and keep track of the balls, wickets and overs. Speed Gun  - It is a small Doppler radar unit used to detect the speed of moving objects; it is commonly used to determine bowling speeds in cricket broadcast. Hawkeye  - A computer system first used in 2001 for showing the path of a cricket ball. .Used in Tennis too.Ball tracker may not provide us with accurate decisions, particularly in pitches that experience variable bounce (day 4 and 5 pitches in the sub-continent). Snick-o-Meter  - A very sensitive microphone located in one of the stumps, which can pick up the sound when the ball nick...
